The Threat Of Global Warming

By Joshua Darden

Global warming is the increase of the temperature of earth's lower atmosphere resulting to a climatic change that was caused by the increase of greenhouse gases. There are two types of greenhouse gases. One of those is the natural greenhouse gas such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. On the other hand are man-made gases such as perfluorocarbons (PFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) that were generated from human industrial factories.

About Greenhouse Effects

Greenhouse effect is a process wherein part of the energy from the sun is being trapped in the lower atmosphere by the greenhouse gases to keep the earth warm enough for life to continue. Without the greenhouse effect the earth will be very cold and life won't be able to exist. Like any other element, this can only be beneficial with a moderate amount.

Due to the increase production of greenhouse gases by humans, like burning of fossil fuels, agricultural activities and release of harmful gases from factories, the excess amount of these gases in the atmosphere will produce a large quantity of heat being trapped. As a result, a drastic climate change will occur which can possibly affect many lives severely through natural disasters such as floods and drought, strong hurricanes and storm, extinction of wildlife, spread of diseases and economic hardships.

How to Prevent Global Warming

As an individual, you can start the fight against global warming by joining a pro-environment group. Be a pro-active member by joining their advocacies and programs. You can also help spread the news through Facebook and Twitter or other social media sites. Inform inquirers and members of different ways on how they can help to deescalate the effects of global warming. Saving energy resources, reforestation, reduction of gasoline consumption and control in the population are some things that could help prevent the harmful devastation of the Earth's atmosphere.

Everyone should take part in restoring their planet as this is their only home. Planting and growing of trees, making use of energy efficient appliances, doing the easy task of unplugging electronics when not in use, recycling and a major change in transportation habits are some of the simple things that people can do in their busy life to help preserve mother earth. Spreading the word through social media and other forms of communication can be a big help towards awareness and change. Informing your friends, family and relatives can be a start of winning the war against the harmful effects of global warming.

Is Global Warming Real And Just How Does It Disturb You

By Lee Larossier

Is global warming real? Despite the prominence accorded to this phenomenon, countless numbers of individuals still ask this question. Not all scientists in fact fall for the theory and many find it hard accepting that the concept has come this far. The reality is Earth has only heated up about 1.5 degrees on average over the past 50 years.

It might have presented quite some difficulty issuing precise measurements relating to heat at that time, though this is quite achievable today. Ice does persist on showing melting signs, indicating eventual global increase in temperature. This renders it necessary to understand the exact cause of any such phenomenon as worldwide warming.

Several proponents of this theory desire to understand what else could precipitate perpetual temperature rises all over the globe if not such phenomenon. Answers to this inquest are many and quite diverse. Melting observed with ice supplies an ocean with cool water thus bolstering the already cool conditions present there.

Such action then alters dynamics of weather. Climate patterns become less robust in some regions and this effect hinders distributive aspects from moving air therefore occasioning less cooling. The process changes air flow as well as other elements in its course. One other area that presents some challenge to scientists is the Ozone layer.

Holes which form on this canopy precipitate the melting of ice upon earth. If no heat leaves, further heating takes place. Multiple persons got very concerned in the past over possibility of developing skin cancer and other ailments owing to perforation of the Ozone.

It is now generally observed that these holes within the Ozone are sealing up. Another concern developing nonetheless is of ambient temperature rises. Warming up of ocean surfaces may in this produce more heating in regions which border these water bodies. Is global warming real? Make your conclusion based on this.

About This Blog

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die
